Certification Standards
The Singapore course and certification is based on the ASNT SNT-TC-1A certification program. As well, IRT is the only approved and accredited training organization in Asia…and we are the company in the world accredited to teach the L2 IR/T ISO program.
IRT is an Accredited Training Organization and Associate Member of BINDT. This means we have fulfilled all the requirements, and audits etc to be approved to teach this program. We provide training based on the BINDT PCN,ISO 18436, EN473, Norwegian, Australian and ASNT certification programs.
Who should apply?
This course is designed to meet and exceed ASNT SNTTC- 1A, BINDT CM/IRT, the European Standard and ISO. At the Institute, we understand the importance to attain a theoretical background in any technique prior to attempting to perform inspections. Once the technology and technique is fully understood, an in-depth results orientated program can be initiated. This course will present case studies that present real problems that the thermographer will experience in the field.
To obtain maximum value from the infrared instrument, the course includes daily hands-on instrument operation that will teach the basics of the camera operation as well as the detailed operational features of your specific brand of infrared instrument. Owning an infrared camera is not required for attendance!

Candidate who passed the exam, a certificate of Level 1 will be awarded by Institute of Infrared Thermography.
But for learning, participants are encouraged to bring their own specific brand of camera to class. Applications from most industries will be covered, so you will be able to perform inspections at your site on your equipment and processes.
ABOUT
Mr. Newport is an internationally acclaimed expert within the infrared industry and is recognized worldwide as the number one educator, developer, promoter of infrared thermography. From his early entrance into the Infrared Thermography industry, he pioneered many of the techniques in infrared thermography and has been instrumental in developing many applications in current use today. With his educational and practical background in electrical systems, he performed his first electrical inspection in 1976!
Mr. Newport also works on many committees developing and establishing Standards and Procedures for Infrared Thermography. He had worked on the Thermal / Infrared Committeewith the American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) and with the British Institute for Non-Destructive Testing(BINDT) to establish European and International Infrared Standards, and with the International StandardsOrganization (ISO) committeetowards establishing an international infrared standard. Standards for Level 1, Level II and Level III Thermography are now completed and have become the template for many other countriessince then.

GENERAL FAQ
The exam consist of?
Written Exam – 50 MCQ, commence on last day of class.
Practicum exam– Submit report for two (2) IR images with corresponding Visual Image of your subject . (Explanation, Comment, Observation, or Theories/application)
Exam Result– As soon as everyone has complied with the written and practicum exam, we will send you an email with the final grade
Basic Certification. Qualified students will receive a digital certificate via Accredible for passing the written and practicum certification exam. The digital credential is secured. Certificate is valid for 5 years. Renewal fee will be $250.00 before tax.
Full Certification. A timeline of 1 year to complete the required minimum inspection hours of 210. After the evaluation process, you will receive the Full Certified Level 1 Thermography digital certificate. It is valid for 5 years from the date of issuance. Renewal fee will be $250.00 before tax.
What if I fail my exam?
Please note that there is only ONE attempt for retest if student fail the exam.
Retest fee will be $160.00 before tax.
What if I fail my retest exam?
Student can opt for recourse. Recourse fee will be 50% off from course fee.
What are the criteria to attend for this course?
Student are required to have and bring their own Laptop, Earpiece with Mic, Thermal Imager during the 5 days course. American English will be used throughout this 5 days training
